TiO2 nanotube arrays prepared by anodization as an adsorbent in micro‐solid‐phase extraction to preconcentrate and determine nitrogen‐containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in water samples

Abstract: In this study, a simultaneous determination method for nitrogen-containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons including 7-methylquinoline, acridine, 5,6-benzoquinoline, carbazole, and 9-methylcarbazole was developed. This method is based on a micro-solid phase extraction using TiO2 nanotube arrays as an adsorbent in combination with HPLC. Some factors that had an effect on the enrichment were optimized, such as sample pH, surfactant concentration, ion strength, type of eluent, equilibrium time, and desorption ti… Show more

“…19 It has rich surface properties, such as: ① several Ti 4+ sites with a coordination number of 6 on its surface, which exhibits Lewis acidity and can coordinate with Lewis basic groups (Lewis acid–base effect). 20 ② There are also some hydroxyl groups on its surface with an isoelectric pH of approximately 5, which can exhibit Lewis acidity or alkalinity at different pH values. All these characteristics suggest that it can interact with many other materials and has the potential to be applied in a variety of fields.…”

“…Among the different compounds largely used as inorganic fraction, titanium dioxide has recently received particular attentions. This is due to its high chemical stability, durability, corrosion resistance, nontoxic, and different band gap energies, which broaden its applications in photocatalytic , electrochemical systems , and separation and extraction techniques . As far as the core–shell nanocomposite synthesis is concerned, encapsulation of TiO 2 NPs inside the conductive polymers shell is widely popular and feasible.…”
