Silver rasbora (Rasbora argyrotaenia) is a high-value commodity. The problem in cultivation of silver rasbora is long goanadal maturation period. The gonadal maturation period can be accelerated by manipulation of feed using omega-3. Omega-3 can affect reproductive performance, egg development, and fish embryogenesis. The purpose of this study was to determine effect of addition of omega-3 in feed on gonadal maturity level and fecundity of silver rasbora. The observed parameters are gonadal maturity level, gonado somatic index, gonado index and fecundity. This research applied a completely randomized design (CRD) method which consist of four treatments, namely control (0 mg/kg feed), P1 (2500 mg/kg feed), P2 (5000 mg/kg feed), and P3 (7500 mg/kg feed). The result of this study was indicate addition of omega-3 to feed increased gonadal maturity at GML IV stage and had a signicantly effect on the gonado somatic index, gonado index, and fecundity of female silver rasbora. The optimal dose of omega-3 for silver rasbora gonads is 7500 mg/kg of feed, which results in an increase in gonadal maturity to GML IV with a GSI of 18,89 ± 2,24%, a GI of 143,63 ± 6,66 and fecundity of 924,76 ± 9,21 eggs/parent.

The grey-eel catfish is a highly valued fish species in some parts of Indonesia. The fish is common in brackish water of estuaries, marine and freshwater habitat. They are not are not usually catched in commercial scale because of the limited population in its habitat. Although the status is not evaluated, the fish is predicted facing extinction in several countries. We conducted a study to examine the biological information and reproductive biology of the fish in Kota Langsa to gather information that can be utilize to evaluate reproductive status of the fish in several habitats. Parameters tested in the study includes sex ratio, length-weight relationships, candition factor, size at first maturity fecundity and reproductive potential of the fish. Research results provide information that the fish follows negative allometric model with constant condition factor throughout the study. The catches were relatively young fish which have not reached maturity stage. Fishes in the class sized at 510-550 mm provide the largest contribution to total eggs production. To ensure sustainability of the fish it is advised that the fish must catched at size larger than 550 mm.

Ikan sembilang (Plotosus canius) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan konsumsi yang cukup banyak digemari masyarakat pantai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aspek reproduksi ikan tersebut. Kegiatan pengambilan contoh ikan dilakukan tiap bulan di perairan Majakerta, Indramayu, Jawa Barat, mulai dari Februari–April 2015. Total ikan contoh yang diamati sebanyak 98 ekor ikan terdiri atas 65 ekor ikan jantan dan 33 ekor ikan betina. Pengamatan dilakukan pada rasio kelamin, tingkat kematangan gonad, indeks kematangan gonad, ukuran pertama kali matang gonad, fekunditas, dan diameter telur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan, perbandingan ikan sembilang jantan dan betina yaitu 2:1. Ikan dengan tingkat kematangan gonad I–IV ditemukan pada setiap pengamatan. Ukuran pertama kali matang gonad ikan sembilang jantan dan betina adalah 281 mm dan 308,6 mm. Ikan ini memiliki fekunditas berkisar 564-864 butir, dan berdasarkan distribusi telur, ikan sembilang tergolong partial spawner.
