OrioE/Metallomesogenic Polymers a W W z ADVANCED MATERIALS MAIN-CHAIN (9.g.) f -M M Josi Luis Serrano studied chemistry at the University of Zaragoza, Spain, where he received his Diploma and Ph.D. for work in the field of liquid crystals in the group of Professor Enrique Melindez. In 1985 he obtained the position ofprofesor titular of organic chemistry at the University of Zaragoza. Since 1985 he has been at the Institute of Materials Science of Arag6n ( I C M A ) and vvus Vice-Director of the institute from 1987 to 1991. His research interests include ferroelectric liquid crystals and metallomesogens of both low and high molecular weight. Luis Oriol Langa studied chemistry at the University of Zaragoza. In 1990 he completed his Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Serrano and in 1991 he joined the Escuela Universitaria Politecnica de Huesca as lecturer of chemistry. In 1993 he spent time at the Philips Reseurch Laboratories in Eindhoven studying processing technologies for optoelectronic liquid crystal materials. His main research interests lie in the synthesis and properties of liquid crystalline polymers. Adv.
