Timing of the Miocene-Quaternary magmatic intrusions in the Tanga offshore basin: correlation to age equivalent deposits in the Eyasi-Wembere basin and their implications for petroleum potential

Abstract: Detailed 2D qualitative seismic interpretation, coupled with core logging and analysis of elemental proxies, has been used to assess petroleum potential of the Miocene-Quaternary successions of the Tanga offshore basin. These successions have been intruded by magmatic sills and dykes.
