Timely and effective media coverage's role in the spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019

Abstract: For all humanity, the sudden outbreak of Corona Virus Disease 2019 has been an important problem. Timely and effective media coverage is considered to be one of the effective approaches to control the spread of epidemic in early stage. In this paper, a Sentiment‐enabled Susceptible‐Exposed‐Infected‐Recovered (SEIR) model is established to reveal the relationship between the propagation of the epidemic and media coverage. The authors take the positive and negative media coverage into consideration when implemen… Show more

“…The location and environment of the diseased individual influence environmental infectiousness. Modeling the dynamic of COVID-19 (Ashraf, Saleem, et al, 2020), researching the efficacy of preventative methods such as COVID-19 travel restrictions, and studying the effect of climate on COVID-19 propagation are only a few of the studies being conducted about the present COVID-19 (Wang et al, 2024). In recent studies, the authors have tried to develop similar models to obtain proactive results, but every model has limitations that ultimately affect the results.…”

“…Other works predicting COVID‐19 patterns focus on fractional and other integer order models [4] and the application of integral operators [5]. The influence of media coverage is measured in [6], and the effect of shelter hospitals in [7], which contributed to scale the capacity of health‐care systems in Fangcang, during the COVID‐19 pandemic. The outcomes may be of valuable reference for decision‐makers in future areas of widespread infections [8].…”
