Abstract: BACKGROUND Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease that affects the peripheral nerves, leading to neurological damage and physical disability. This study analysed the temporal trend in the rate of new leprosy cases with grade 2 physical disability in Brazil and identified spatial clusters of risk for physical disability.
