Time of treatment with IBA in Olive cultivars rooting

Abstract: Abstract-Phytoregulators such as indole butyric acid (IBA), have been used in the process of olive tree rooting in the form of concetrated hydroalcoholic solutions. The objective of this present study was to evaluate the efficiency of a low concentration of IBA (300 mg L -1 ), diluted in a solution of only 10% of alcohol 70 o GL, in the rooting of four olive tree cultivars (Arbequina, Arbosana, Frantoio and Koroneiki), treated in different times of base immersion (0, 1, 2, 4 and 8 hours). The rooting was carri… Show more

“…Treatments with exogenous hormones (e.g., 6-BA, NAA, and IBA) are a common method employed to address this problem [31,32], and here we identified 50 mg•L −1 NAA + 50 mg•L −1 IBA + 20 min immersion time as the optimal hormone treatment for boosting rooting rates. In comparison, 1 h in an IBA solution effectively stimulated rooting in cuttings from four olive cultivars [33]. Additionally, the best overall rooting for Gardenia augusta 'Radicans' cuttings was obtained using a foliar spray or basal quick-dip of 123.0 µM IBA + 67.1 µM NAA [16].…”

“…The greatest effect on rooting achieved by Auxins (Eid et al, 2018). IBA (indole butyric acid) is the most auxin used for rooting of olive cuttings (Hussein at al., 2017 andShiri et al, 2019), therefore, the results found vary a lot according to the dosage, the cultivar, the period of rooting, the substrate and the type of cutting among other factors.…”
