“…Aboriginality was determined using a validated algorithm by the WA Data Linkage Branch, which analysed records from various WA government administrative datasets where Aboriginal status was recorded 16 . We identified mental illness and illicit drug use based on specific ICD‐10‐AM diagnosis code categories established in previous research 7,16,17 .
