Abstract:We present a novel computational scheme to solve acoustic wave transmission problems over composite scatterers, i.e. penetrable obstacles possessing junctions or triple points. Our continuous problem is cast as a multiple traces time-domain boundary integral formulation valid in two and three dimensions. Numerically, our two-dimensional non-conforming spatial discretization uses spectral elements based on second kind Chebyshev polynomials while a convolution quadrature scheme is performed in the complex freque… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
