Tidal fluctuations of water level observed in wells in East Tennessee

Abstract: Semidiurnal water‐level fluctuations of tidal period have been observed in wells completed in the Chickamauga limestone of Middle and Late Ordovician age in east Tennessee. The periodic oscillations of the water level are similar to fluctuations in artesian pressure that in other localities have been recognized and correlated with earth tides.
