Tiansuan Constellation: An Open Research Platform

Abstract: Satellite network is the first step of interstellar voyages. It can provide global Internet connectivity everywhere on earth, where most areas cannot access the Internet by the terrestrial infrastructure due to the geographic accessibility and high cost. The space industry experiences a rise in large low-earth-orbit satellite constellations to achieve universal connectivity. The research community is also urgent to do some leading research to bridge the connectivity divide. Researchers now conduct their work b… Show more

“…This section discusses a dependency task scheduling strategy based on a given time extension graph. We assume that in the satellite working stage, a satellite node can achieve a remote sensing image online reasoning task [13]. The image reasoning task can be divided into several dependent subtasks.…”

“…In this manner, satellite acquisition data can be processed in real-time at satellite edge nodes [4] [7][8] [12], conserving bandwidth and allowing for quick mission reaction. The TIANSUAN Constellation test star [13], co-chaired by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and other institutions, for example, has validated remote sensing image inference and computing services, laying the groundwork for its proposed future multi-star edge collaborative computing plan.…”
