Thyrotoxic Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis

Abstract: Thyrotoxic hypokalemic periodic paralysis (THPP) is a rare but life-threatening complication of hyperthyroidism characterized by recurrent episodes of muscle weakness due to intracellular potassium shifting in the presence of high levels of thyroid hormone. Attacks can be triggered by many factors. Its differential diagnosis from the other common causes of hypokalemic paralysis is necessary to maintain targeted therapy.
