“…Although certain variables such as a desire to further alter thyroid cartilage or a prominent scar can affect outcomes, overall, patients seem to be extremely satisfied with their results. Multiple studies 10,11 have advocated for further research to be devoted to patient-reported outcomes, as this is an aesthetic operation and therefore these are arguably the most important outcomes. One study 11 used an outcome instrument based on a previously designed and validated tool by Alsarraf et al 16 Consistent use of this instrument in future studies will allow for more reliable cross-study comparison and should be encouraged moving forward.…”
