Thyroid Cartilage Cysts, A Rare Entity Causing Dysphonia

Abstract: Five cases are presented with a strained voice quality due to a unique underlying cause: thyroid cartilage cysts. Laryngoscopy and radiological images show antero-medial displacement of both vestibular and vocal fold(s). Swelling in the ala of the thyroid cartilage results in a pear-shaped lumen.
