Abstract: Objectives The retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4) has recently been described as a protein highly related with insulin resistance (IR) states like obesity and diabetes. The chronic inflammatory states, like in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), are linked also to insulin resistance by mechanisms that are unknown.
