Throughput Optimization for Noma Energy Harvesting Cognitive Radio With Multi-UAV-Assisted Relaying Under Security Constraints

Abstract: This paper investigates the throughput of a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-based cognitive radio (CR) system with multiple unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted relays under system performance and security constraints. We propose a communication protocol that includes an energy harvesting (EH) phase and multiple communication phases. In the EH phase, the multiple UAV relays (URs) harvest energy from a power beacon. In the first communication phase, a secondary transmitter (ST) uses the collected energy… Show more

“…In the literature, a wide range of relaying protocols has been proposed for various applications [45]. The main principle of many relaying protocols is presented in Table I and we name them CNRP when combined with NOMA [36], [46]. The previous studies usually assume that severely bad channels happen to direct links between the source nodes and the destination.…”

“…CR networks based on NOMA (CR-NOMA) are projected to further enhance communication reliability and spectrum utilization efficiency while combining with the aforementioned benefits [4][5][6]. Among different methods, CR and NOMA function well by boosting throughput and increasing delay and secrecy constraints.…”

“…In recent days, metaheuristic optimization algorithms play a major role in solving various problems in different applications. In this domain, only fewer studies have been conducted using prominent optimization algorithms like the genetic algorithm (GA) [15], particle swarm optimization (PSO), [16][17][18][19][20] etc. The primary goal of these algorithms is to increase SSR by considering a single objective function.…”

“…High data rates and minimal end-to-end routing delays in CR-based IoT communication are achieved by using a reinforcement learning (RL)-based routing approach [17]. The energy harvested communication protocol is a good approach to optimize the throughput of the UAV-assisted CR system [18]. A Q-learning-based dynamic spectrum access is considered in three different access scenarios, such as orthogonal multiple access (OMA), underlay spectrum access, and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), to utilize the spectrum resources intelligently in the cognitive industrial internet of things (CIIoT) [19].…”
