Thrombotic Conditions in Patients with COVID-19: Dynamics of D-Dimer and Tactics of Anticoagulant Therapy

Abstract: In patients with COVID-19, histological examination of the pulmonary vessels shows serious disorders (local thrombosis and microangiopathy), significantly different to those in the control group composed of patients with influenza. Some studies have shown that coronavirus enters cells by binding angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 which is found mainly on the alveolar epithelium and endothelium.
