Three-view-concept for modeling process or manufacturing plants with AutomationML

Abstract: AutomationML (Automation Markup Language) is an XML based data format for the exchange of plant engineering information. Its mission is to interconnect engineering tools of different disciplines, e.g. process, mechanical or control engineering. AutomationML enables the vendor independent storage of interlinked engineering data that is usually distributed into different engineering tools. This enables a wide range of future tool functionality not available and not possible today. For this, AutomationML defines … Show more

“…On other axes, rotations up to 25 • were possible. In this way, based on the accuracy reached (0.1 mm and 0.2 • ) with the laser tracker compensation, the robot dependent error (denoted as r) identified and compensated in Cartesian space (denoted as c) is assumed zero and denoted in (11). Fig.…”

“…An error source breakdown structure towards classification and notation of errors involved in robotic manufacturing processes is proposed. The error breakdown structure is based on the widely used product, process, and resource model (PPR) [10], [11]. Moreover, errors are classified depending on the space in which they are identified.…”

“…If an aspect is formalized, the formalization is usually shorter than the original phrasing and is easier to understand. The author has already dealt with such formalized models in different applications [5,6,7,8]. Formal models especially in computer science are specific forms of cognition.…”

“…APIs and exchange formats often do not follow established (open) standards. Therefore the AutomationML [15] project provides a standardized XML data exchange basis for data integration between multivendor automation systems engineering tools as foundation systematic information exchange between engineering models.…”

“…ASE environments have to accommodate for heterogeneity coming from the engineering disciplines involved, the software tools and their data models [15], and run-time data collection [14]. In many ASE environments domain experts have to invest considerable effort to bridge the semantic gaps between common project-level engineering concepts and the diverse local data representations [10].…”
