Three Vectors Model Predictive Torque Control Without Weighting Factor Based on Electromagnetic Torque Feedback Compensation

Abstract: Finite control set-model predictive torque control (FCS-MPTC) depends on the system parameters and the weight coefficients setting. At the same time, since the actual load disturbance is unavoidable, the model parameters are not matched, and there is a torque tracking error. In traditional FCS-MPTC, the outer loop—that is, the speed loop—adopts a classic Proportional Integral (PI) controller, abbreviated as PI-MPTC. The pole placement of the PI controller is usually designed by a plunge-and-test, and it is dif… Show more

“…Because of the advantages of fast response and remarkable constraint handling capability, model predictive control (MPC), first proposed in the 1970s, has been developed significantly in the PMSM drives [5,6]. Now, an MPC controller is adopted to achieve varieties of functions, such as flux and power control [7], speed regulation [8], and torque control [9]. In addition, another commonly used application is model predictive current control (MPCC), which contributes to rapid current dynamics [10,11].…”

“…A lot of work has been done to improve dynamic torque performance and to optimize the output efficiency of the torque of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) in recent years [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. Additionally, various optimal torque control strategies have been proposed, such as direct torque control (DTC) [4,5], predictive torque control [6,7] and nonlinear control strategies [8], etc. The DTC strategy combined with space vector pulse width modulation (PWM) [9], which used continuous rotated voltage vector to regulate the flux of the motor.…”

“…In particular, the system ripples should be low. Whereas, there are many reasons that can cause high speed, torque or flux ripples in the practical applications, and these can be grouped into internal and external factors [17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25]. The internal factors mainly include; (1) the values of the parameters (e.g., stator inductance and resistance, etc.)…”

“…Some of the external factors are summarized as follows. First, external disturbances, such as the electromagnetic interference bring about high-frequency noises [23]. Secondly, the speed and current sensors used for signal measurement are not accurate [24], or worse, they can malfunction.…”
