Outages and faults cause problems in interconnected power system with huge economic consequences in modern societies. In the power system blackouts, black start resources such as micro combined heat and power (CHP) systems and renewable energies, due to their selfstart ability, are one of the solutions to restore power system as quickly as possible. In this paper, we propose a model for power system restoration considering CHP systems and renewable energy sources as being available in blackout states. We define a control variable representing a level of balance between the distance and importance of loads according to the importance and urgency of the affected customer. Dynamic power flow is considered in order to find feasible sequence and combination of loads for load restoration.

Después de un apagón a gran escala, el restablecimiento del sistema eléctrico de potencia (SEP) debe realizarse rápidamente. Para ello, se debe restablecer el parque de generación, el sistema de transmisión y finalmente, la demanda desatendida. Para obtener un proceso acelerado de restablecimiento es necesario establecer metodologías de arranque de unidades de generación, que pongan en marcha, primero, las unidades con arranque en negro y, después, se les lleve potencia de arranque a otras unidades de generación sin esta característica, mediante una ruta de transmisión factible. En este artículo se presenta una revisión de diferentes metodologías de arranque óptimo de generadores para el restablecimiento del SEP, reportadas en la literatura científica teniendo en cuenta la integración de fuentes de energía renovables no convencionales. Dentro de esta revisión se destaca que los métodos heurísticos, aunque son efectivos, no se utilizan en la operación de tiempo real por su alto costo computacional.

Summary Optimizing the power system restoration path is a key issue for the system restoration after a blackout. Because the optimization is a complex nonlinear programming problem, artificial intelligent algorithms are widely employed to solve this problem due to its modeling flexibility and strong optimization capability. However, because the dimension of restoration path optimization is very high especially for large‐scale systems, artificial intelligent algorithms in current works are easy to be trapped in the local optima. To improve the optimal solution from the artificial intelligence algorithms, an orthogonal genetic algorithm is employed in this paper to optimize the restoration path, which can search the solution space in a statistically sound manner. First, the experimental design method was employed to generate orthogonal array as the initial population which was scattered uniformly over the feasible solution space. Then, the orthogonal crossover operator based on the orthogonal experimental design was employed to generate a small but representative feasible solution as the potential offspring. Finally, the proposed method is validated by using the IEEE 118‐bus test system and part of the Jiangsu power grid in China.
