Three novel Actinoplanes species isolated by using polyaspartic acid as a water-retaining agent for the enrichment in situ

Abstract: Three novel actinomycete strains, designated TRM66264-DLMT, TRM88002T and TRM88003T, were isolated by using polyaspartic acid as a water-retaining agent for the enrichment in situ. The 16S rRNA gene sequence and phylogenetic analyses of three strains indicated that they belonged to the genus Actinoplanes . The phylogenetically closest strains of TRM66264-DLMT, TRM88002T and TRM88003T were … Show more

“…Tetra-hydrogenated menaquinone with nine isoprene units – MK-9(H 4 ) – is commonly the predominant isoprenologue followed by minor amounts of hexa- and octahydrogenated menaquinones with nine isoprene units isoprenologues – MK-9(H 6 ) and MK-9(H 8 ) [2]. Iso/anteiso branched and monounsaturated fatty acids and/or cis -9,10-octadecanoic acid are often present, though their proportions may vary considerably between the species [2, 7–10, 12, 13].…”

“…At the time of writing (September 2023), the genus Actinoplanes consisted of 53 species with validly published species names, as reported in the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (https://lpsn.dsmz.de/genus/actinoplanes), including recently published Actinoplanes ramoplaninifer [7], Actinoplanes deserti [8], Actinoplanes flavus [9], Actinoplanes aksuensis , Actinoplanes polyasparticus , Actinoplanes hotanensis [10], and Actinoplanes maris [14]. Actinoplanes inhabit various natural environments and were isolated from temperate soils [15], mucky soils [12], arid and desert soils [8, 16], marine sediments [17], and rhizospheres of different plants [9, 18] or lichens [19].…”
