Three New ent‐Kaurane Diterpenoids from Siegesbeckia pubescens

Abstract: (4), were isolated for the first time from the aerial parts of Siegesbeckia pubescens. The structures were established by extensive spectroscopic analyses including 1D-and 2D-NMR (HSQC, HMBC, and ROESY), and HR-ESI-MS, and by comparison with published data.

“…X-Ray crystallographic studies of atractyloside which is the toxic constituent of the thistle, Atractylis gummifera, have been reported. 110,111 Glycosides of 4-epiatractyligenin have been obtained 112 from Siegesbeckia pubescens (Asteraceae). This plant is known in Chinese traditional medicine as xixian and is used for the treatment of arthritis and other inammatory conditions.…”

“…Seven known diterpenoids were also obtained from this genus, bengalensol [18], villanovane [10], tricalysione A [14], 2 β ,16 α ,17-trihydroxy- ent -kauran-19 α -oic acid [19], 2-O-(2-O-isovaleryl- β - d -gluco-pyranosyl)-4 α -atractyligenin [20], 2-O-(2-O-isovaleryl- β - d -gluco-pyranosyl)-4 β -atrac- tyligenin [20], 3-O- β - d -glucopyranosyl-2-O-(2-O-isovaleryl- β - d -gluco-pyranosyl)-4 β -atracty ligenin [20]. Their structures were identified by comparison of their NMR data with literature data.…”
