In this article, the parabolic dense fuzzy set is defined, and its basic arithmetic operations are studied with graphical illustration. The lock set concept is incorporated in a parabolic dense fuzzy set. Then, it is applied to the problems of fishery culture via the modeling of an economic order quantity model. Here, the fingerlings are fed to reach the ideal size to fulfill the customer’s demand. The growth rate of the fingerlings is assumed as a linear function. After the sales of all fish, the pond is cleaned properly for a new cycle. Here, the model is solved in a crisp sense first. Then, we fuzzify the model considering the demand rate as a parabolic dense lock fuzzy number and obtain the result in a fuzzy environment. The main aim of our study was to find the quantity of the ordering items such that the total inventory cost gets a minimum value. Lastly, sensitivity analysis and graphical illustrations were added for better justification of our model.

Background: Neutrosophic logic explicitly quantifies indeterminacy while also maintaining the independence of truth, indeterminacy, and falsity membership functions. This characteristic assumes an imperative part in circumstances, where dealing with contradictory or insufficient data is a necessity. The exploration of differential equations within the context of uncertainty has emerged as an evolving area of research. Methods: the solvability conditions for the first-order linear neutrosophic differential equation are proposed in this study. This study also demonstrates both the existence and uniqueness of a solution to the neutrosophic differential equation, followed by a concise expression of the solution using generalized neutrosophic derivative. As an application of the first-order neutrosophic differential equation, we discussed an economic lot sizing model in a neutrosophic environment. Results: This study finds the conditions for the existing solution of a first-order neutrosophic differential equation. Through the numerical simulation, this study also finds that the neutrosophic differential equation approach is much better for handling uncertainty involved in inventory control problems. Conclusions: This article serves as an introductory exploration of differential equation principles and their application within a neutrosophic environment. This approach can be used in any operation research or decision-making scenarios to remove uncertainty and attain better outcomes.

Presently in the commercial environment, because of the high level of market globalization and rapid increase in industrialization, supply chain synchronization is playing an increasingly significant role in the proper management of the whole system including several factors at the same time. In real business world, both manufacturer and retailer accept credit to make their business position strong, as credit not only strengthens their business relationships but also increases the scale of their profits. The long period of credit may increase the demand rate but simultaneously it can also increase the credit risk. We investigate a two-layer supply chain model under dynamic demand with a manufacturer and a retailer maintaining decaying items with controllable deterioration rates under two levels of trade credit policies. For the time of trade credit granted to the retailer, the manufacturer bears opportunity costs. To promote sales and optimize sales volume, both supply chain participants give trade credit periods to downstream members and due to the credit period, both of them are facing default risk. Both members work together to invest in preservation technologies to abate the rate of degradation. The proposed models are developed for both the centralized and the decentralized scenarios. A closed form model having profit maximization problem is developed for both the centralized and the decentralized scenarios. The focus of this study is to obtain the optimal selling price, replenishment cycle time, preservation technology cost, upstream and downstream trade credit period to optimize supply chain profit. The paper’s novelty lies in introducing two level trade credit with default risk considering decaying items with controllable deterioration and price and credit sensitive customer’s demand in a dual channel supply chain inventory policy. It is found that joint supply chain model can be able to enhance the total profit of the whole supply chain. Lastly, sensitivity analysis highlights the influence of major model parameters using numerical examples.
