Three dimensional socket preservation: a technique for soft tissue augmentation along with socket grafting

Abstract: BackgroundA cursory review of the current socket preservation literatures well depicts the necessity of further esthetic considerations through the corrective procedures of the alveolar ridge upon and post extraction. A new technique has been described here is a rotational pedicle combined epithelialized and connective tissue graft (RPC graft) adjunct with immediate guided tissue regeneration (GBR) procedure.ResultsWe reviewed this technique through a case report and discuss it’s benefit in compare to other so… Show more

“…Control of plaque, restorative manipulation, protection from bacterial invasion, maturation of soft tissue and maintenance of oral hygiene around implant supported crowns are enhanced with enough keratinized tissue around it. Rehabilitation of soft tissue after tooth extraction is default method today in modern implantology along with hard tissue reconstruction [15]. Soft tissue in this case was preserved with crestal incision during regeneration procedure and implant placement and shaped with temporary FRC bridges.…”

“…[ 2 ] Most of the alveolar ridge preservation approaches using graft materials and barrier membranes aim at regenerating the bone and improving bone quality as a prerequisite for gaining a proper implant site. [ 3 ] Minimal ridge remodeling has been observed when using resorbable hydroxyapatite grafts,[ 4 5 ] demineralized freeze-dried bone allograft (DFDBA) covered with an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene membrane or even allogenic or xenogenic bone grafts covered with a collagen plug.
