Three-dimensional graphene encapsulated Ag–ZnFe2O4flower-like nanocomposites with enhanced photocatalytic degradation of enrofloxacin

Abstract: Three-dimensional (3D) Ag–ZnFe2O4-reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was successfully synthesized using a hydrothermal and photo-reduction method, and the morphological differences of the materials were observed.

“…It is well known that the smaller metal NP shows better catalytic activity than the larger one owing to the larger specific area. Third, as illustrated above the Ru/rGO and RuCo/rGO with lower Co content show flower‐shaped morphologies in which the space between petals can provide more specific surface and active sites that are beneficial for the catalytic activities [36] . In contrast, without a catalyst, the conversion of VA is negligible.…”

[36] In contrast, without a catalyst, the conversion of VA is negligible. Moreover, compared with the RuCo NPs, rGO and the physical mixture of RuCo NPs and rGO as catalysts, RuCo/rGO-2 exhibited overall higher catalytic activity, indicating that synergistic effect between RuCo NPs and rGO.…”
