Three‐dimensional coordination polymers based on trimethyltin cation with nicotinic and isonicotinic acids as anticancer agents

Abstract: Two new coordination polymers, namely [Me3Sn(INA)] (CP1) and [Me3Sn(NA)] (CP2), where INA = isonicotinic acid and NA = nicotinic acid, were characterized using infrared, UV–visible and NMR spectroscopies, thermogravimetric analysis and single‐crystal X‐ray analyses. The structure of CP1 consists of a one‐dimensional coordinated chain which is further extended creating a two‐dimensional layer via hydrogen bonds. The two‐dimensional layers propagate along the corresponding planes creating a three‐dimensional fra… Show more

“…Reactions of bivalent transition metal ions with ligands containing heterocyclic carboxylic acids derived from pyridines, quinoline, pyrazine and their homologous ring system have been extensively studied with respect to their bonding, electrochemical, spectroscopic properties, thermal, and magnetic behavior in addition to catalytic and photocatalytic activities . The development of new metal coordination complex catalysts for the oxidative decolorization of waste dyes continues to be a challenging topic in areas of heterogeneous catalysis and green chemistry …”

“…The photoluminescence spectra of [Cu 2 (H 4 EBC)Cl 2 ]·H 2 O , [Co(H 4 EBC)Cl 2 (H 2 O) 2 ]·2H 2 O and [Ni(H 4 EBC)Cl 2 (H 2 O)]·2H 2 O display emission broad‐bands at 342, 321 and 337 nm, respectively (Figure ). These bands can be attributed to as ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer . On the other hand, H 4 EBC does not show any bands in DMSO solution on excitation.…”

“…The common feature of these structures is the presence of five-coordinate tin-atom geometries defined by trans-C 3 NO donor sets owing to the presence of µ 2 -pyridine-4carboxylato bridges. Thus, derivatives with R = methyl [12,13], n-butyl [14], cyclohexyl [15], benzyl [16], 2-chlorobenzyl [17], 2-fluorobenzyl [18], 4-fluorobenzyl [19], phenyl [20] and the mixed species R 3 = phenyl 2 (ethyl) [21] are known. The title compound, i.e.…”
