Due to depletion of conventional fuel and also due to increasing global warming in last several years, the search of alternative and renewable energy increases remarkably worldwide. Many sources of alternative energy have been explored to substitute conventional source of energy by numerous researchers. Nowadays, another promising alternative energy got increasing attention is solar energy. As a matter of fact, in renewable sources, solar power contribution is so high when compared with other sources. The present study aims to figure out an effect of photovoltaic (PV) arrangement on performance of the solar system at three different configurations solar panel, i.e. standalone 150 wp (Model I), 100 wp + 50 wp (Model II), and 3 x 50 wp (Model II). The results show that the model I able to generate average power about 121.57 W which means that the model has an efficiency of 83.05% respect to the capacity of the PV.

Turbines are efficient power generators. Because wind energy is a clean fuel source, it is widely utilized in some regions. One of the major factors affecting wind turbine performance is the angle of attack of the blade. The aerodynamics and efficiency can be improved by improvising the lift-to-drag ratio CL/CD to get the best design for wind turbine blades. There are many factors affecting the efficiency of horizontal wind turbine blades such as the angle of attack of the blade. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of the angle of attack on coefficients and forces, particularly on a blade with NACA 4412 airfoil in a horizontal axis wind turbine. The length, thickness, and chord length of the blade were 3m, 0.36m, and 0.12 m respectively. Computational Fluid Dynamics was used to develop to obtain lift and drag coefficients in a horizontal wind turbine blade. In addition, the correlation between different angles of attack, lift, and drag forces were studied and validated. The results demonstrated that the lift and drag coefficients increase as the angle of attack increases. Furthermore, the optimal angle of attack for this study was 0° because it has the highest lift-to-drag ratio, resulting in the greatest efficiency. The results demonstrated that it is possible to have a different lift and drag coefficient for the same angles of attack at a similar airfoil.

The horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) design with low wind speed requires blade geometry selection. The analysis uses the potential flow panel method and the integral boundary layer formulation to analyze wind flow around the airfoil. The blade design with the blade element momentum (BEM) theory has an aerodynamic coefficient value along the blade. Power wind calculates to model the wind shear pressure at each blade. This research aims to determine the wind turbine rotor based on the performance, including the power coefficient, tip speed ratio, power, and rpm. The simulation uses an airfoil NACA 4412 which has optimal coefficient lift (Cl) = 1.92 at 190 pitch of angle, coefficient drag (Cd) = 0.0635 at 130 pitch angle and Cl / Cd = 155 at tilt angle = 40. Five models of 2.5 m diameter blades with different angles for each chord. The test results show that the change in the speed ratio affects the power coefficient so that the optimal power coefficient on NACA 4412 in experiment 5 is 0.56, and change in rotation per minute affects the output power so that the rotation per minute and the optimal power in experiment 4 with a value of 374 rpm and 553 W.
