“…Active SelfAffirmation scale is an 18-item self-report scale that measures the endorsement of values such as respect and deference towards adults, and particularly towards parents. The scale was drawn from a larger inventory of cultural values thought to be characteristic of the normative socialization of Latino youth and was originally validated with Mexican and Puerto Rican youth (Fernandez-Marina, Maldonado-Sierra, & Trent, 1958).
