Threat to macroalgal diversity: effects of the introduced green alga Caulerpa racemosa in the Mediterranean

Abstract: ) C. racemosa overgrew native macroalgal species within 4 mo. As a consequence, phytobenthic community structure deeply changed: species cover, number and diversity greatly decreased.
