Thirty Years of Human Rights Study in the Web of Science Database (1990–2020)

Abstract: The study of human rights (HR) is vital in order to enhance the development of human beings, but this field of study still needs to be better depicted and understood because violations of its core principles still frequently occur worldwide. In this study, our goal was to perform a bibliometric performance and network analysis (BPNA) to investigate the strategic themes, thematic evolution structure, and trends of HR found in the Web of Science (WoS) database from 1990 to June 2020. To do this, we included 25,5… Show more

“…In addition, the SciMAT presents a robust preprocessing module, which ensures data quality [ 30 ]. With the support of the SciMAT, we plotted a strategic diagram and the intellectual network structure of the most important themes [ 61 , 62 , 63 ]. In addition, it was possible to generate an evolutionary diagram that presented the most important themes of the field of study distributed over time.…”

“…A Bibliometric Performance and Network Analysis (BPNA) supported by the SciMAT software was carried out to identify the strategic themes and the evolution map of the field of study. To achieve our goal, the Web of Science database was used to export related documents, as this indexed database has a large volume of quality research [12,13].…”

“…To answer the research questions, studies available in the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database were used. All indexes were considered such as Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) and others, since WoS is an indexed database with a large volume of quality research (Cobo et al, 2011;Furstenau et al, 2021aFurstenau et al, , 2021Severo et al, 2021;Sott et al, 2020b). In the population phase of the PICOC protocol, the following search string (('data mining' OR 'knowledge-discovery' OR 'estimation' OR 'prediction') AND ('solid waste')) was used to identify the documents associated with the field of study.…”
