Third-order nonlinear optical properties of a dmit2−salt by Z-scan technique

Abstract: The non-resonant and resonant third-order nonlinear optical response of a charge-transfer salt (NBu 4 ) 2 ½ZnðdmitÞ 2 ] (dmit¼2-thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolate) are investigated using the Z-scan technique with 38 ps laser pulse duration at the fundamental wavelength 1064 nm and half-wavelength 532 nm. Under 532 nm excitation, the solution exhibits strong saturable absorption (SA) with a nonlinear absorption coefficient ¼ À2:94 cm GW À1 and a negative third-order nonlinear refractive index attributed to self… Show more

“…The organic cations characterized by the special kind of π-conjugated in aromatic ring compounds have attracted attention NLO materials [5][6][7][8]. There are many typical aromatic carbonyl that shows interesting photochemical properties [9.10], in this case we can speak about acetophenone as the most typical one.…”

“…Recently, organometallic complexes have attracted attention as promising third-order NLO materials [10][11][12][13]. These materials, which contain transition metal-ions, exhibit new properties due to the richness of the various excited states presented in the system and the ability to tailor the metal-organic ligand interactions.…”

“…Indeed, the synthesis of low-dimensional inorganic-organic materials enables both inorganic and organic components at the molecular level to be optimized. The organic cations, which are characterized by a special kind of π-π interaction in aromatic ring compounds, have attracted attention NLO materials; there are many typical aromatic that shows interesting photochemical properties [10][11][12].…”
