Thiophene or Pyridine-Substituted Quinoline Derivatives: Synthesis, Properties, and Electropolymerization for Energy Storage

Abstract: Designing novel electropolymerizable monomers is essential in developing electron donor-electron acceptor (D-A) type conjugated polymers for applications in sensing, catalysis, and energy storage. Thiophene and pyridine-substituted quinoline-based molecules (Th-Q, DTh-Q, and Py-Q) are synthesized in this work, and their crystal structures, optical properties, and electrochemical properties are investigated. The potentiostatic electropolymerization of these molecules are successfully carried out on carbon cloth… Show more

“…The infrared spectra between 4000 and 400 cm À1 are captured by a Perkin-Elmer 1430 IR spectrometer applying KBr disc technique. 1 H NMR spectral measurement was recorded (in DMSO-d 6 ) at room temperature utilizing a DELTA2 NMR spectrometer (500 MHz). On direct inlet section of the mass analyzer, the electron impact mass spectra are measured in the thermal scientific GCMS-type ISQ in RCMB, Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt.…”
