Abstract:Beginning in 1492, from the occupation of the territory initially named America by Spaniards and Portuguese-and then by British, French, and Dutch, among other imperial powers-the occupied territory was subjected to various impositions of new subjectivities, by different forms of physical and symbolic violence.
