Abstract:50 leg ulcers in 36 patients were covered by a free skin homotransplant. No signs of healing were previously attained, even after long periods of treatment. Cases of recurrent ulcers were among the ones collected.Follow-up controls revealed healing in 33 ulcers (66.6%) lasting one year after transplantation. In 17 cases however (33.3%) a recurrence had occurred. It is therefore possible to shorten considerably the period of hospitalisation necessary by performing this surgical proceeding.
