Thermophysical study of the binary mixtures of N,N-dimethylacetamide with 2-propanol and 2-butanol

Abstract: Several thermophysical properties such as densities, ρ, speeds of sound, u, refractive indices, nD, and kinematic viscosities,, have been measured for the binary mixtures of N,N-Dimethylacetamide with 1-propanol and 1-butanol over the entire range of composition, at the temperatures (283.15, 298.15 and 313.15) K and at atmospheric pressure p = 0.1 MPa. From these experimental data, excess molar volumes, V E , excess isentropic compressibilities, E S  , refractive index deviations, ΔnD, and viscosity deviati… Show more

“…On the other hand, the influence of structural factors is more related to the volumetric behavior. Figures and show a graphical comparison of excess molar volumes with surface tension deviations for the systems studied here at T = 298.15 K and p = 0.1 MPa; for the rest of the temperatures, the graphical comparisons are similar. In fact, for these systems, the surface tension deviation clearly correlates with the excess molar volume.…”

“…The drop volume V is related to the surface tension σ by where g is the gravitational acceleration constant, Δρ is the difference in density between liquid and air, r cap is the radius of the capillary, and f is a correction factor , that is automatically calculated by the tensiometer. The density differences needed to determine the surface tension were calculated from our previous papers, and these calculated densities for the binary mixtures N , N -dimethylacetamide with alkanols are given in Table S1. The temperature was regulated within ±0.01 K using a thermostat (Lauda E-200).…”

“…With the deepening of applied research, the existing single component phase change materials are difficult to meet the needs of practical application due to lack of variety, so the research and development of composite PCMs has attracted much attention. The composite PCMs mainly refers to the general mixed system, binary eutectic system, or polynary component with similar properties, shape‐stable solid‐liquid phase change material,, and inorganic‐organic composite phase change material . Therefore, it is of great significance to explore the preparation of composite phase change energy storage materials.…”
