Thermophysical properties of binary mixtures of odichlorobenzene and o-chlorophenol with diethyl ether, tetrahydrofuran, cyclohexane and anisole

Abstract: Measurement of density and viscosity has been used for evaluating derived parameters for binary system of o-dichlorobenzene and o-chlorophenol with diethyl ether, tetrahydrofuran, cyclohexane and anisole at the different temperatures and at atmospheric pressure. From these, excess parameters have been calculated over entire range of composition. The variation of derived parameters as well as the sign and magnitude of corresponding excess functions has been used to investigate the type and extent of interaction… Show more

“…The derived parameter data V E and ∆η at the experimental temperamental are listed in Table 2 and 3.The density and viscosities for the binary mixtures of ODB with EMK, PN, MIBK and CYN are listed in Table 2 and OCP with EMK, PN, MIBK and CYN are listed in Table 3 The V E (x 1 ≈ 0.5) shows the order: OCP + PN > OCP + EMK > OCP + MIBK > OCP + CYN. Negative V E reveals the existence of specific interaction between unlike molecules 13 . The interaction takes place between a lone pair of electrons of the oxygen atom of ketone and Cl, O-H group 14 .…”
