“…All materials show the same broad band at 2 θ close to 23–26°, which is related to the amorphous silica of the SBA-15 walls. 83 Non-impregnated SBA-15 presented no peaks along the analysis, evidencing that no residual metal species were present.…”

“…A broad band peaking at 23°can be seen in this pattern, which could also be seen as a small band in the same position after the CuI film was deposited. This peak is wellknown to be of amorphous glass, 33 but due to its sharpness at 23°, its appearance is still clear in the patterns of those of CuI thin films (Figure 1a). The films postannealed at 373, 473, and 573 K show similar patterns, but with a systematic decrease in the intensity of the XRD peaks.…”

“…These diffraction peaks can be assigned to (111), (220), and (311) planes, respectively . One small peak can be observed at around 23°, which might be of the glass substrate, typically of the amorphous phase of SiO 2 . The XRD pattern of the glass slide used as a substrate to deposit CuI thin films by the PLD technique was also recorded, and the obtained result is shown in the inset of Figure a.…”

“…A full width at half-maximum (fwhm) of 0.1° is sufficient to indicate a good performance of crystallinity, and the sample synthesized in this work had an fwhm of 0.06°, thereby indicating an excellent quality of crystals. Also, no other peaks associated with MACl and PbCl 2 can be found, but there was a weak peak at an angle of 21.5° due to the silicon substrate used for testing . The single-crystal facet was carefully polished with abrasive paper to reduce the polycrystalline surface.…”
