Abstract:Blockage of the flow channel in a fuel assembly of a nuclear reactor changes the coolant pressure, temperature, and temperature fields. A redistribution of the flow rate and pressure in the flow occurs at the location of the blockage, recirculation flows arise behind the blockage, and at the same time the hydraulic resistance increases and, correspondingly, the coolant flow rate through the fuel assembly decreases. Stagnation of the coolant flow increases the overall heating of the coolant. The degradation of … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
