“…The influence of mass fraction of Carbitol on solubility of vanillin at T = 298.15-318.15 K and p = 0.1 MPa was also investigated as shown in Figure 4. From Figure 4, it was observed that the solubility of vanillin was found to be increasing with increase in mass fraction of Carbitol in Carbitolwater mixtures at T = 298.15-318.15 K. The results of this work were in good agreement with previously published solubility data of other bioactive compounds such as isatin and reserpine in Carbitol-water mixtures at T = 298.15-338.15 K and p = 0.1 MPa and silymarin in PEG 400-water mixtures at T = 298.15-333.15 K and p = 0.1 MPa (Shakeel and Anwer, 2015;Shakeel et al, 2015bShakeel et al, , 2015c. Based on these results, vanillin has been considered as soluble in water and freely soluble in Carbitol according to USP and BP classification of solubility (Shakeel et al, 2015a).…”

“…In the present work, the solubility of vanillin in water and Carbitol at T = 298.15 K was found to be 1.23 × 10 -3 and 2.37 × 10 -1 , respectively. These results indicated good agreement of Carbitol as compared to pure water (Shakeel et al, 2015b(Shakeel et al, , 2015c. “…It has been demonstrated that the modified van't Hoff equation (Eq. (5)) can be successfully applied in the correlation of the solubility in the pure solvent [26,27]. For the system in this work, the solubility of creatine monohydrate in water and ethanol is presented as Eqs.…”
