Purpose. To justify theoretical dependences of the main flow parameters of 3-phase streams for modeling the process of hydraulic hoisting of polymetallic nodules in the flow section of the deep-water air-lift for various structures of heterogeneous fluid flow.Methods. Theoretical studies allowed to establish dependences of the main flow parameters of 3-phase streams transporting solid material in a vertical pipeline.Findings. We obtained dependences describing the main characteristics of 3-phase flows in vertical pipelines and calculation formulas for determining the flow parameters of polymetallic nodules hydraulic hoisting for different flow patterns of the fluid. An approach to the development of a mathematical treatment of the mechanism underlying solid materials transportation in the carrying fluid is proposed.Originality. A thermohydrodynamic model of the rising pipe of the deep-water air-lift hydraulic hoisting is developed taking into account the heat-mass exchange processes with different structures of the 3-phase fluid.Practical implications. We developed and prepared for trial operation the software simulating transitional operation modes of deep-water hydraulic lifts transporting polymetallic nodules.

In the work on the example of a tunnel erector, the concept of recurrent metamodeling is determined which allows engineering new designs of mining machines. In this case, the metamodel of their entire family is associated with the family of models of machine nodes. The effect of various laws of movement of the erector devices is analyzed and it is proved that its minimum time is observed under conditions of compliance with the U-shaped law. A mathematical model of the hydraulic drive of the erector devices has been developed, which allows, taking into account any options for moving the point mass, to determine the law of control of the movement of the spool of the hydraulic directional control valve (DCV) in relation to the laminar and turbulent type of liquid flow. The erector device metamodel was created using the algorithmic language MATLAB Simulink.

The schema for gas engine waste heat recovery to electrical power by dual circuit power generation unit with different working agents has been developed. The method and the most efficient power generation unit heat mode calculation algorithm under the conditions of the given restrictions on the temperature differences in the heat exchangers has been developed. Based on the mathematical modeling of heat modes it has been stated that 4200 kW of heat power can be utilized to generate 520 kW of electrical power for JMS 620 gas engine. It has been calculated that the efficiency of secondary heat recovery to electrical power reaches 12.3 % which leads general efficiency increase for a gas engine from 42.9 up to 50.0 %.
