Thermodynamic Properties of Ternary Mixtures Containing Ionic Liquids and Organic Solvents

Abstract: The densities, ρ, speed of sound, u, heat capacities, C p of pure 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, 1-methyl pyrrolidin-2-one, pyrrolidin-2-one, pyridine and ternary mixtures of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (1) + 1-methyl pyrrolidin-2-one or pyrrolidin-2-one (2) + pyridine (3) and their binary mixtures of 1-methyl pyrrolidin-2-one or pyrrolidin-2-one (2) + pyridine (3) have been measured as a function of composition at (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, and 308.15) K and atmospheric pressur… Show more

“…The agreement of newly obtained data with a single value reported by Dávila et al [87] and with all but one of the values reported by Dávila and Trusler [84] is within 0.5 % (see Fig. 7) while heat capacities by Mundwha et al [85] and by Sharma et al [88] were by more than 5 % lower. A preliminary simultaneous correlation of the selected vapor pressures performed separately with each heat capacity data set suggested that the value reported by Dávila and Trusler [84] at the highest temperature is slightly in an error and was omitted from the data fitting.…”

“…Although several new data sets were published [84,85,87,88], the differences between existing data sets were significant and new measurements were performed (see Table 5). The agreement of newly obtained data with a single value reported by Dávila et al [87] and with all but one of the values reported by Dávila and Trusler [84] is within 0.5 % (see Fig.…”

“…The database included papers in which experimental speed of sound data were reported for temperatures from 278.15 to 393.15 K and pressures from 0.1 to 200 MPa (142 articles), a paper in which experimental data are presented only as a plot (1 article), and works where only calculated values of speed of sound are available (22 articles) published in the period 2004–2014 (Table S1). ,, , , ,,,,, …”

“…The experimental density values of IL and pure cosolvents in this work and those data already studied are reported in Table . The density values of the pure substances and binary mixtures of IL with cosolvents were determined in the temperatures from (303.15 to 353.15) K at atmospheric pressure (0.0976 MPa) and presented in Tables to .…”
