The adducts AsX3·nL (where L is piperazine (Pipz),
morpholine (Morph), or piperidine (Pipd); X is Cl, Br,
or I; and n is 1, 3/2, or 2) have
been synthesized and characterized by melting points, elemental
analysis,
thermal studies, and infrared spectroscopy. By means of
calorimetric measurements in solution, the
mean standard enthalpies of the arsenic−nitrogen bonds were
determined as well as the values of other
thermochemical parameters of the adducts.
