Thermo‐mechanical coupling analysis of a cylindrical lithium‐ion battery with thermal radiation effect in generalized plane strain condition

Abstract: Summary Thermal instability has severely limited the wide application of the lithium ion batteries. In this work, a thermo‐mechanical coupling model of cylinder lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) with the thermal radiance effect is developed in generalized plane strain condition, which is two‐way coupling. Then, taking 18 650 LIBs as the object, some numerical calculations are implemented to discuss the impacts of initial temperature, discharge current, heat convection coefficient, thermal emissivity and internal re… Show more

“…For the natural cooling cylindrical heat source (i.e. closed current bus), in order to strengthen the natural convection heat transfer of the inner cylinder current bus, the inner cylinder is often slotted [2]. The abstract magnetic fluid thermal coupling problem can be understood as the thermal coupling problem of the flow field and temperature field in the natural convection heat transfer and radiant heat transfer of the cylindrical heat source.…”

“…Some scholars classify the failure of permafrost slopes on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau as: collapse, creep, thermal thawing instability, and mud flow. Frontiers and others classified the main types and characteristics of freezing damage in permafrost regions, and proposed prevention and control measures [1]. Some scholars analyzed the failure mechanism of rock and soil slopes in cold areas, and gave the corresponding stability calculation methods.…”
