Thermally stimulated aquoluminescence of γ-irradiated alkali halides

Abstract: The recently reported emission of photon pulses, in the range of 400 to 600 nm, during the dissolution of γ‐irradiated alkali halides in water, has been studied as a function of temperature. It is found that the rise time, the pulse height, the number of emitted photons, and the decay time are strong functions of temperature in the range 0 to 90°C.
