Abstract:If and how an isolated quantum system thermalizes despite its unitary time evolution is a longstanding, open problem of many-body physics. The eigenstate thermalization hypothesis (ETH) postulates that thermalization happens at the level of individual eigenstates of a system's Hamiltonian.
