Oily sludge (OS) was extracted with petroleum ether (PE), methanol, carbon disulfide (CDS), acetone, and isometric CDS/acetone mixture (IMCDSAM), respectively, to obtain soluble species (E 1 −E 5 ) and extraction residues (R 1 −R 5 ). The soluble species were analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), and the extraction residues were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Results showed that the extract yield of the soluble species from OS using CDS and IMCDSAM as the solvent was 61.0 and 67.3%, respectively. GC/MS results exhibited that the compounds detected in E 1 −E 5 are mainly hydrocarbons and oxygen-containing compounds. E 1 −E 5 are rich in alkanes, alkenes, ketones, alcohols, and other oxygen-containing compounds. Double-bond equivalence (DBE) and carbon numbers (CNs) of the compounds detected in E 1 , E 2 , and E 4 are distributed in 0−4 (DBE) and 10−20 (CNs), respectively, while the DBE and CNs of the detected compounds in E 3 and E 5 are concentrated in 0−6 and 15−35, respectively. Thermogravimetry-differential thermogravimetry (TG-DTG) profiles presented that pyrolysis of OS occurred mainly in the temperature range of 150−750 °C, while pyrolysis of R 1 −R 5 took place in the range of 350−750 °C. In the temperature range of 150−550 °C, the weight losses of OS and each extraction residue differ significantly, with OS having a much higher weight loss than the extraction residues. Meanwhile, the possible mechanism of oily sludge extraction was considered. Results revealed that selecting a low-polar or nonpolar solvent capable of selectively destroying hydrogen bonds and/or aromatic interactions is critical for improving the extract yield of OS.

Oily sludge is one of the main hazardous wastes which seriously endangers the ecological environment and human health. In this paper, in order to effectively treat oily sludge, a novel high-speed stirring (HSS) method was proposed to clean oily sludge, and the main parameters affecting the residual oil rate of oily sludge were studied experimentally. Firstly, the cleaning time and stirring speed were optimized in the one-stage HSS cleaning, and then the optimal cleaning time of two-stage HSS cleaning was determined by the response surface method. The results suggested that the oil can be efficiently separated by high-speed stirring at room temperature, and that the two-stage cleaning with a circular-hole outlet (Rotor-C) followed by a vertical hole-outlet (Rotor-V) presented the best effect. The optimal stirring speed was 6000 r/min, and the optimal cleaning times of the two-stage cleaning were 7 min and 8 min, respectively. After cleaning, the residual oil rate of the treated oily sludge was 1.65%, and the removal rate of the petroleum hydrocarbons was 84.3%.

A indústria do petróleo é responsável pela geração de um volume muito grande de rejeitos denominados NORM (Materiais Radioativos de Ocorrência Natural), constituído principalmente de borras e incrustações. Os principais radionuclídeos presentes são Rádio-224, Rádio-226 e Rádio-228. Ao contrário do que acontece em alguns países, a reinjeção desses rejeitos nos poços de petróleo é proibida no Brasil, sendo, portanto, armazenados em depósitos e pátios das unidades de exploração e produção de petróleo à espera da definição de requisitos regulatórios. Tecnologias baseadas em surfactantes têm sido estudadas para o tratamento de resíduos radioativos contendo isótopos de rádio. No entanto, o uso de processos combinados para remoção de rádio de borra de petróleo radioativa é escasso na literatura. O objetivo deste trabalho é investigar um método que descontamine a borra de petróleo, de modo a transformá-la em um rejeito com concentração de radionuclídeos abaixo do limite de descarte estabelecido pela Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear. Com isso, foram empregadas amostras de borra pré-tratada irradiada por micro-ondas, borra in natura e água (quente e em temperatura ambiente) em ensaios de descontaminação com tensoativo não iônico, investigando-se os efeitos de concentração de surfactante, temperatura e tempo de contato.
