Thermal post buckling analysis of smart SMA hybrid sandwich composite plate

Abstract: Thermal post-buckling analysis of smart sandwich plates has been presented with the incorporation of shape memory alloy (SMA) and shape memory polymer (SMP) in laminated composite structure under uniform temperature distribution. Buckling analysis is based on higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) with von Karman nonlinearity by finite element method (FEM). Evaluation of critical buckling temperature has been performed under the action of inplane uniform temperature distribution for different boundary co… Show more

“…Mahabadi et al [12] and Malekzadeh et al [13] performed extensive work on investigating the influence of parametric, e.g., pre-strain, volume fraction, distribution form of SMA, and geometric parameters on dynamic behavior. Nonlinear free vibration response and active buckling control in composite plates were further examined to conduct an inquiry into thermally buckling and post-buckled composite plates embedded with SMA wires [14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22].…”

“…(Mathieson and Fam, 2014; Sharaf and Fam, 2011) Chose sandwich panels made from polymer shells reinforced with fiber glass and polyurethane foam cores and then exposed them to large-scale off-loading and reverse loading. (Lal and Markad, 2020a, 2021b) Examined thermal analysis and nonlinear post-buckling and free vibration analysis of smart and polymer sandwich plates shape memory alloy under uniform temperature and dynamic temperature changes. (Lal and Markad, 2020b, 2021a) Examined Nonlinear post-buckling analysis sandwich composite beams subjected to static load and they also examined nonlinear flexural analysis of carbon nanotube-reinforced sandwich beams under dynamic loading.…”
