Abstract:Nanoelectromechanical (NEMS) resonators are promising uncooled thermal infrared (IR) detectors to overcome existing sensitivity limits. Here, we investigated nanoelectromechanical trampoline resonators made of silicon nitride (SiN) as thermal IR detectors. Trampolines have an enhanced responsivity of more than two orders of magnitude compared to state-of-the-art SiN drums. The characterized NEMS trampoline IR detectors yield a sensitivity in terms of noise equivalent power (NEP) of 5 pW/ √ Hz and a thermal res… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
