Thermal expansion and heat capacity of Sm2ScTaO7 – A promising material for thermal barrier coatings

Abstract: The experimental results presented for Sm 2 ScTaO 7 pyrochlore in this study, temperature dependence of heat capacity and retaining the pyrochlore structure with the temperature variation, as well as the constant value of the thermal expansion coefficient in a wide temperature range, can be considered as evidences for the absence of a previously reported phase transition in the high-temperature region for this compound.
