SYNOPSISStudies of thermal degradation in nitrogen atmosphere of honiopolymers: polypropylene (PP), polyethylcne (PE), poly(viny1idene chloride) (PCVD), and polyacrylonitryle (PAN) as well as of their blends were carried out using the tlierriiogravimetric method. The investigations performed at different heating rates led to thermogravinietric curves which made it possible for the kinetic parameters characterizing thermal degradation, i.e. ~ activation energy E and reaction order n, of the homopolymers and polymer blends in dependence on blend composition to be determined. PP and PE blends show higher thermal stability as compared with pure PP in contrast t o the results obtained for PCVD with PAN blends.
